Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book has been considered the bible of breast-care books since it appeared in 1990. In 1995, Love completely updated the book in a 600-page second edition, including new biopsy and screening methods, implants, the pros and cons of hormone therapy, new discoveries in breast-cancer treatment, and many other topics. Every chapter has been rewritten, with the exception of the anatomy chapter ("The breast, I'm glad to report, is still located on the chest!"). Love presents copious medical information in a simple, welcoming style, and plentiful illustrations make the information even clearer. About two-thirds of the book deals with breast cancer: risk factors, prevention, screening, diagnosis, staging, emotions, treatment options, surgery, alternative treatments, clinical trials, and more. But the book isn't just about breast cancer. It's also about breast development, physiology, bras, nursing, sexuality--if it has to do with breasts, Love discusses it. Love also debunks breast myths: underwire bras do not cause cancer, neither do bruises or injuries; "fibrocystic disease" isn't really a disease. The book includes a wealth of resources: books, treatment centers, and organizations. The Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation works to eradicate breast cancer and improve the quality of women's health through innovative research, education, and advocacy. Learn about our programs. Find out how you can support the Foundation and the groundbreaking research that will end breast cancer in our lifetime. www.dslrf.org

Ted C. Fishman's essays and reports have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Money, Harper's, Worth, Esquire, USA Today, GQ, Chicago magazine, and Business 2.0. A former floor trader and member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, he ran his own trading firm until 1992. A graduate of Princeton, he lives in Chicago. The world’s population is rapidly aging—by the year 2030, one billion people will be sixty-five or older. As the ratio of the old to the young grows ever larger, global aging has gone critical: For the first time in history, the number of people over age fifty will be greater than those under age seventeen. Few of us under¬stand the resulting massive effects on economies, jobs, and families. Everyone is touched by this issue—parents and children, rich and poor, retirees and workers—and now veteran jour¬nalist Ted C. Fishman masterfully and movingly explains how our world is being altered in ways no one ever expected. What happens when too few young people must support older people? How do shrinking families cope with aging loved ones? What happens when countries need millions of young workers but lack them? How do compa¬nies compete for young workers? Why, exactly, do they shed old workers? How are entire industries being both created and destroyed by demographic change? How do communities and countries remake themselves for ever-growing populations of older citizens? Who will suffer? Who will benefit?
Every person of color has “a moment” when he or she is confronted with a challenge related to race. Randal Pinkett had “a moment” immediately after becoming the first Black winner on The Apprentice, when Donald Trump asked him to share his victory—with a white woman. He stood firm as the sole Apprentice, backed by his unrivaled undefeated record on the show and Trump’s own rules for competing for a coveted executive position. Coach C. Vivian Stringer and the Rutgers University women’s basketball team had “a moment” when shock jock Don Imus referred to them as “nappy-headed hos.” They spoke back with dignity, rallied the National Organization of Women to their defense, and received the Wilma Rudolph Courage Award from the Women’s Sports Foundation. Barack Obama had “a moment” in the face of millions, including prominent Civil Rights leaders, who said America wasn’t ready for a Black man in the White House. Defying the crowds of naysayers and the odds against him, Obama made the bold decision to run for President of the United States and triumphed by making history. Like all the successful members of their race, every Black American has the potential to redefine the game. That’s what Randall Pinkett believes, based on their considerable experiences in business, the public eye, and the minority. In BLACK FACES IN WHITE PLACES: 10 Game-Changing Strategies to Achieve Success and Find Greatness (, Pinkett presents a trailblazing path for leveraging ethnic and cultural assets to not only win the game of success in any arena, but to reshape America and leave a powerful legacy. www.randalpinkett.com
