Government bureaucracies are so omnipresent that economic expansion and full employment are threatened. That’s the message Nobel Laureate in Economics, F. A. Hayek -- who fought totalitarianism and socialism discusses in a new documentary with never before topics discussed by the world renowned economist. Kenneth J. Gerbino, CEO of the Beverly Hills based investment management company bearing his name wants to deliver a message to political leaders. Gerbino was founder and Chairman of the 1980 reform advocacy group The American Economic Council, recently released a controversial interview with Hayek, an economist whose theories inspired George Orwell to write his epic book 1984 and whom many credit for helping to bring down the Iron Curtain. In it, Hayek decries the growth of the civil service as the poison pill that could put any country in a stagnant or no-growth mode with inefficiencies and waste. “Hayek believed that the swelling of the civil service would grow government to such an unwieldy size that it would become an unsustainable beast, dragging down the government and the economy because of its endless hunger,” said Gerbino, introducing his new documentary film The Hayek Prophecies (www.thehayekprophecies.com ). The film is based on the interview he conducted with Hayek before his death, where he actually was asked, “What would you do if you were president?” The answer from Hayek, considered by Milton Friedman as the greatest economist of all time, is what Obama should do.
Anna Boiardi is the granddaughter of Mario Boiardi and the great-niece of Hector Boiardi, founders of the Chef Boiardi Food Product Co. Born and raised in Italy in a family of chefs, Boiardi learned to cook at home with her mother and grandparents. After college, she launched Cucina Academy, which has been featured on CNBC, and she appears regularly on QVC presenting her dessert line, Delicious Memories. Boiardi lives in New York. The Boiardi name has reached tables across America for more than 70 years. Most Americans have fond memories of this iconic brand, evoking nostalgia for a simpler time. From a very young age, Anna Boiardi spent countless hours helping her mother and grandmother, kneading and folding, and listening to stories as rich as the tortellini she and her mother would work to perfection. Now, for the first time, Anna brings us the authentic recipes that inspired the brand, including Ravioli with Ricotta and Squash Filling, Cotechino with Lentils, and Baked Fennel with Butter and Parmesan. Recipes for sauces, meats, and of course pasta dishes are just some of the secrets Anna shares in Delicious Memories.

In Am I Still Autistic?: How a Low-Functioning, Slightly Retarded Toddler Became CEO of a Multi-Million Dollar National Corporation, John chronicles how he overcame autism, what it was like, the pain of moving from his autistic state to the mainstream world, things he had to learn that most people take for granted, and what he was able to accomplish against all odds. John Hall was able to eventually make friends, graduate from high school, put himself through college, earn his MBA, start a successful company, and start a family! Overcoming autism was only part of his battle though. John writes about how many of his most significant life challenges began after he began to emerge from his autistic shell - some which lingered long into John's adult life, despite his many successes. But when John's own son was diagnosed with autism in 2007, John's life was shattered. He will never forget how he sobbed as his son's neurologist handed down his son's diagnosis. At that moment, John experienced the same sense of hopelessness that most parents do when they receive such a diagnosis. And there was so much more. He immediately thought of the hurt, pain, loneliness he experienced growing up, how hard it was to learn how to look at people and to communicate with them, how scary it all was, and how the entire experience follows him to this day. John was heart-broken that his son would be relegated to have the same experiences.
