More than 1 million students will graduate from college in the coming weeks, and more high school students than ever will be collecting diplomas.
“After 40 years, we’re finally seeing significant improvements in high school graduation rates. The national average shot up from 72 percent in 2001 to 78 percent in 2010. And the number of young people with college degrees is growing, too,” says retired business executive Cary Siegel author of “Why Didn’t They Teach Me This in School? 99 Personal Money Management Principles to Live By,” www.whydidnttheyteachmethisinschool.com.
“But. I worry these young adults won’t have a clue about how to manage their paychecks.”
Siegel speaks from experience. Even after earning an MBA from the University of Chicago, he realized he knew little about how to best manage his personal funds. Setting financial goals helped him establish some basic principles, a trial-and-error process that was ultimately successful: He retired at age 45 after a marketing and sales career that included introducing new products like Crystal Light and Jell-O Light for Kraft Foods.
“I wished I’d learned these principles in school,” he says. “I would’ve made fewer mistakes.”
Now, he’s making sure he teaches his five teenagers, ages 13 to 17, what he learned the hard way.

A Step-by-Step Program to Reduce Anger, Rage, Negativity, Violence, and Depression in Your Life If you get angry out of the blue, experience road rage, often blow off steam at your kids, get depressed for no apparent reason, or otherwise act out of control, then you need to read and heed this book. Anger is not just an emotion - it's a way of life based on all the things you eat, think, and do. Specific biological, nutritional, and psychological states feed anger. So if you don't change your lifestyle and cure your problem, you're headed for degenerative diseases that increase with age - things like diabetes, cancer, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, obesity, and addiction. In her book, author Kathleen O'Bannon, C.N.C., uses her accumulated wealth of knowledge about lifestyle-based conditions to provide a series of tests to help you diagnose what's causing your anger problem. She then guides you through a series of lifestyle changes necessary to cure it. For instance, spikes in your blood sugar after you eat a candy bar instead of a nutritious lunch cause anger attacks, as do yeast infections, a lack of B vitamins, and excess stress. Not only does O'Bannon describe the many factors that contribute to and promote anger, she provides diets, exercises, and stress management - a complete Anger Cure program - based on nearly thirty years of lifestyle counseling. Being angry is a choice you make when you allow your body to control you instead of you controlling your body. The goal of The Anger Cure is to help you learn how to become more balanced and anger-free. Are you ready to take control of your life? The choice is yours.

To the outside world, Justin Daniels was a very successful businessman, a loving husband and a doting father. Daniels owned and operated a disaster restoration business, construction company, flooring company, daycare business, and real estate holdings. His ServiceMaster franchises were in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida and aided in the restoration at the Pentagon after 9/11 and the hurricanes in Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, and Florida. Despite all of his success, Justin faced struggles with addiction to both drugs and alcohol. The reality - his world was crashing down around him. Justin Daniels is an addict. He's an addict who sought and found help. He'd be the first to tell you he should be dead, given his history, but he's not, unlike others who were in rehab with him. To his knowledge, only six out of 25 who were in rehab with him in 2007 are alive today. No more Vodka in My orange Juice. Recovery is a learning process and Justin Daniels understands how to motivate addicts to find their path to recovery. Justin speaks from the heart and from personal experience. He offers solutions, guidance and empowerment. He is proof that anyone can achieve a fulfilling sober life.
