How many self-help books are written by authors whose biggest success is selling self-help books? Three Simple Steps is different. Despite stock market crashes, dot-com busts, and the specter of recession, the author started a virtual company from home, using a few thousand dollars of his savings. A few years later, without ever hiring an employee or leaving his home office, he sold it for more than $100 million. As the economy slipped into another free fall, he did this again with a company in a different field. He accomplished this through no particular genius. Rather, he studied the habits of the many successful men and women who preceded him, and developed three simple rules that, if followed diligently, virtually ensure success. Using them first to escape poverty, then to achieve a life of adventures, he finally turned them toward financial independence. Written in a straightforward and no-nonsense style, Three Simple Steps shows you how to take back control of your destiny and reshape your mind for increased creativity, serenity and achievement. While building on the wisdom of great thinkers and accomplished individuals from East and West, Three Simple Steps isn't a new age text or guide to esoteric fulfillment. Rather, it's a practical guide to real-life achievement by a pragmatic businessman who attributes his incredible successes to these very simple ideas. Three Simple Steps is a must-read guide for everyone who wants to achieve more, live better and be happier.

With candor and humor, a manic-depressive Iranian-American Muslim woman chronicles her experiences with both clinical and cultural bipolarity.
Melody Moezzi was born to Persian parents at the height of the Islamic Revolution and raised amid a vibrant, loving, and gossipy Iranian diaspora in the American heartland. When at eighteen, she began battling a severe physical illness, her community stepped up, filling her hospital rooms with roses, lilies, and hyacinths.
But when she attempted suicide and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, there were no flowers. Despite several stays in psychiatric hospitals, bombarded with tranquilizers, mood-stabilizers, and antipsychotics, she was encouraged to keep her illness a secret—by both her family and an increasingly callous and indifferent medical establishment. Refusing to be ashamed, Moezzi became an outspoken advocate, determined to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness and reclaim her life along the way.

With the increase in hand sanitizer use, chlorine wipes, and other household cleaning products, Americans think their houses are clean. However, sweeping countertops and bathroom floors isn’t enough—indoor air quality is just as important. Exposure to air pollutants can be up to 100 times higher indoors than outdoors, as the tight construction of today's homes also contributes significantly to poor indoor air quality. Things like weather stripping and storm doors are designed to save on energy costs. However, they also prevent proper ventilation by keeping indoor air in and outdoor air out. The result can be a buildup of contaminants within the home.
Microbiologist Dr. Charles Gerba, aka Dr. Germ, says that illness-causing contaminants are common in American homes—from the kitchen to the bathroom to the washing machine! And the heating and air conditioning system provides a route for those microscopic menaces to travel throughout the home. The most common problems are dust and dust mites, mold and mildew, which can worsen asthma and allergies. But e-coli and salmonella can also breed and spread via air ducts once they are introduced into your home. The fall months are a good reminder for Americans to do a clean sweep of their houses, as families spend more time inside.
